Community Award Winners – Raising The Bar
Naylor Wintersgill are proud to have won the Community Award in the medium category at the West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce Raising the Bar Awards 2019.
Naylor Wintersgill are proud to play a significant role in our local community and as a firm we are committed to making a real difference to our neighbourhoods and the people within them. Our team attended the awards evening on 6th November 2019 at Leeds Civic Hall and were delighted to accept the award in the community category which recognises employers who have played a significant role in their local communities, providing jobs and opportunities to enhance the lives of those around them.
Raising the Bar, an initiative from the West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce helps businesses with their social responsibility aims and allows them to document and benchmark how they help their local communities, contribute to education, the economy and the environment. The awards recognise all the hard work businesses put in to improving their local area and the region they work and live in.
Head of HR at Naylor Wintersgill Claire Featherstone said, “Throughout the night we heard some fantastic and inspiring stories of how businesses, large and small, are helping create inclusive working environments, providing employment opportunities to all, supporting local charities and supporting the development of the region's young people.
The Raising the Bar awards has also provided us with an opportunity to champion our involvement in TutorMate UK, an online remote reading programme to help improve the literacy skills of young students in Bradford. In the 2018/19 academic year Naylor Wintersgill volunteers donated over 100 hours of their time to TutorMate, helping to build the critical reading skills they will need to succeed in school and beyond.
Congratulations to all of the nominees at the awards and a huge thank you and well done to the Naylor Wintersgill team for all their efforts throughout the year. Our community is a brighter place for having people like you in it!”
