Lord Mayor Judges Charity Bake Off!

The Naylor Wintersgill team were pleased to welcome the Lord Mayor of Bradford to judge our annual charity boardroom bake off.

A highlight in the calendar for many of our avid bakers in the office, our annual boardroom bake off event was back on 5th July with an extra special judge, the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Martin Love.

The Lord Mayor had the enviable task of tasting each of the impressive entries and was extremely thorough on the day giving each bake a score for its taste and appearance. From individual pots of home-made tiramisus, to extraordinary celebration cakes and tasty muffins, team members from across the firm pulled out all the stops to impress with their creations on the day.  With competition fierce as always, we were delighted to see Emilia from our payroll team be crowned winner on the day and take home our impressive ‘Winner’s Whisk’ for her golden flower cake.

From those wishing to taste a piece of the action, donations were collected at the event to support our charities of the year which have been chosen by each of our departments. On the day we raised almost £80 to go towards our 2022 fundraising total for Leeds Autistic Society, Head for Change, Jacqui’s Million, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Cystic Fibrosis Care.

Managing Director Victoria Wainwright, said: “It was great to see many colleagues getting involved on the day and I’m always amazed at the time and care taken to create the fantastic cakes and sweet treats. My City of Culture cake may not have won but it definitely tasted good! Thank you to the Lord Mayor for taking the time to join us and for being such a fantastic judge – all for some great causes!”
