New law for bereaved parents
The Government are set to introduce a new law from April 2020 giving bereaved parents a legal right to paid parental bereavement leave. The new legislation known as ‘Jack’s Law’ in memory of Jack Herd whose mother has campaigned for parents to receive paid leave after the death of a child will come into force as of 6th April 2020. It will mean that parents who suffer the devastating loss of a child will now be entitled to 2 weeks’ statutory leave.
